Writing the First Constitution of Japan
Prince Shotoku was widely known for creating the seventeen Article Constitution. The Constitution had many rules and guidelines to serve his people, but it also provided the governing principles of Japanese society. Principles were a combination of Japans’ s native Shinto religion and two belief systems. Some of the rules that the Seventeen Article Constitution offered were to "let every man have his own charge, superiors and inferiors should agree", "know the difference between evil and good", and "important decisions should not be made alone." These quotes were all said by Prince Shotoku himself.
